POSITION TITLE:                Data Analyst

PROGRAM:                          Impact Evaluation Program

JOB TYPE:                             Temporary

HOURS OF WORK:              17.5 hours per week

JOB SUMMARY:                  The Data Analyst will report to the Executive Lead, Impact and Evaluation. This position will work collaboratively with the Impact Evaluation Team and other organization programs to review and analyze data that has been collected through organization operations. This position will provide data analysis and documentation for internal and external reporting requirements.


  • Researches, gathers, and analyzes internal and external data.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of the organization’s client data.
  • Develop and implement data analysis mechanisms and documentation that reflects current and future client data reporting requirements for the organization; and that ensures integrity of client information that is reported both internally and externally.
  • Research recovery oriented tools to support client service delivery for all ages.
  • Collaborate with the Impact Evaluation Team to ensure mechanisms are in place to access and report statistical information from the organization’s client database to complete data analysis requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Impact Evaluation Team, and other members in the organization, and respond to data analysis requirements and use (regular and ad-hoc reporting).
  • Responsible for data processing and extrapolation to produce and verify charts, tables, and other reporting content
  • Provide data analysis documentation that can be used by other Leaders within the organization to report back on program progress, status and quality improvement. Documentation will be shared in a manner that is appropriate to the audience receiving the information.
  • Research and/or investigate other external sources of data to complete comparative data analysis (i.e. organization data compared to population based data).
  • Provide timely feedback to the Executive Leader and Impact Evaluation Team on all data issues and change suggestions.
  • Support activities of other Impact Evaluation Team members during periods when workload is not heavy.
  • Completing other administrative duties as required.


To participate as a responsible member of the agency.


  • A recognized diploma or undergraduate degree in mathematics, statistics, business or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience with data analysis management required
  • Knowledge and understanding in the area of program evaluation and outcome measurement is required
  • Experience in data mining techniques, procedures and their appropriate use an asset.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically intermediate to expert knowledge of Excel and Access)
  • Experience working with SQL (Structured Query Language) is an asset
  • Experience working with Penelope by Athena database is an asset.
  • Experience building dashboards in common visualization tools and asset.
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit and/or mental health setting is an asset.
