Honouring Community Builders: Three CMHA Calgary Leaders Awarded King Charles III Coronation Medal
Jul 14, 2025
At CMHA Calgary, we believe that building a mentally healthy community takes courage, compassion, and people who are deeply committed to making a difference. We’re honoured to celebrate three remarkable individuals who embody exactly that.
We’re proud to share that Kimberley Feist, Kerry Brown, and Dr. Michael Trew have been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal — a national recognition of individuals who have made significant contributions to their community and to Canada.
Each of these leaders has left an indelible mark on CMHA Calgary and on the mental health landscape of our city:
Kimberley Feist, Program Manager, Community Education and Wellness, has helped shape the way we bring mental health education into schools, workplaces, and the broader community — breaking down stigma and building resilience.
Kerry Brown, Past Board Chair and long-time donor, is a tireless advocate for mental health, offering both leadership and generosity to help strengthen our work and deepen our impact.
Dr. Michael Trew, Past Board Chair and respected community psychiatrist, has brought invaluable insight, wisdom, and heart to our mission, championing accessible, compassionate care for all.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal was established to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and is awarded to 30,000 Canadians who have demonstrated outstanding service or achievement. To have three recipients from CMHA Calgary among them is a testament to the powerful work being done in our local mental health community.
A formal presentation of the medals took place during our Annual General Meeting on June 24, 2025, where we had the opportunity to recognize and thank these individuals in person. It was a moment of reflection and celebration — and a reminder of how far we’ve come, together.
To Kimberley, Kerry, and Dr. Trew: thank you for your dedication, your leadership, and your belief in a brighter future for mental health in Calgary. Your impact reaches further than you know.
