CMHA Calgary’s Peer Supporters share a common experience and understanding with those they speak with. When an individual reaches out to CMHA Calgary’s Peer Support Service, the first person they connect to will be someone who may have travelled a similar journey, and who can assist and provide information on options, opportunities, and supports available. Our Peer Supporters have had over 120 hours of training on relationships and recovery, in order to provide effective individual and family-focused peer support.
CMHA Calgary nurtures the community by building hope, belonging, trust, and connection. Our Peer Support service allows anyone who is looking for a connection with others, who is new to the mental health and/or addiction community, or who is navigating a recovery journey with the chance to speak directly to someone with lived experience.
