Talk to a Peer

Our Peer Support service provides the opportunity for anyone – individual, family member, or professional – to speak with someone with lived experiences of mental health or substance use concerns. By engaging with our Peer Support Workers, you can make a connection with someone with lived experience, increase your sense of engagement and belonging, and move through your recovery journey to develop skills and build resiliency.

Our Welcome Centre is now open to the public! Visit us at #105, 1040 – 7 Avenue SW Tuesday – Thursday from 11 am – 4 pm to speak to a Peer Supporter or join in one of our Recreation Activities. We’re looking forward to seeing you all in-person!

CMHA Calgary’s Peer Support Workers share a common experience and understanding with those they speak with. When an individual reaches out to CMHA Calgary’s Peer Support Service, the first person they connect to will be someone who may have travelled a similar journey, and who can assist and provide information on options, opportunities, and supports available. Our Peer Support Workers have had over 120 hours of training on relationships and recovery, in order to provide effective individual and family-focused peer support.

CMHA Calgary nurtures the community by building hope, belonging, trust, and connection. Our Peer Support service allows anyone who is looking for a connection with others, who is new to the mental health and/or addiction community, or who is navigating a recovery journey with the chance to speak directly to someone with lived experience.
