Mental Health Explorer: Navigating Mental Health Services

CMHA Calgary understands that through raising mental health awareness, busting stigma, and encouraging help-seeking in youth, we must also provide relevant navigation tools, resources, and supports so youth feel appropriately equipped to effectively reach out for mental health care.

For this reason, we have created our first ever mini-module called, “Mental Health Explorer: Navigating Mental Health Services.”

Check Out Mental Health Explorer!

If you haven’t heard of EQUIPPED, it is an online mental health education platform that offers free, self-directed courses for young adults.

This course will encourage participants to develop appropriate help-seeking behaviours and further develop their awareness, confidence, and skills in navigating mental health supports available in the community.

Along with the module, young adults will be able to expand their learning with online, fillable worksheets containing activity-based learning. While designed for those 16 – 24 years old, each EQUIPPED course can be taken by anyone to learn more about their own, or their friend’s and family member’s experience with mental health and wellness.

Mental Health Explorer was made possible with the support of the RBC Foundation. Thank you for continuing to prioritize youth mental health.

The EQUIPPED program was created in 2022 and initiated by a donation that was provided to CMHA Calgary in memory of Phillip Thomas. Phillip passed away in 2019 at the age of 25, following a mental health battle. More information about Phillip is included on the EQUIPPED website and throughout the courses and workbooks.

If you have any further questions about EQUIPPED, please connect with our info line (info@cmha.calgary.ab.ca).
